§ Mr. HAMERSLEYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state how he arrives at the loss of £28,500,000 to the Revenue of the current financial year, owing to the stoppage of the Finance Bill in another place, and of what items the said sum of £28,500,000 is made up; and whether he can give an estimate of what portion of that sum would have been collected within the financial year if the Finance Bill had become law on 1st March, 1910?
§ Mr. GOLDMANasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much of the £28,500,000 which he estimates will be lost to the Exchequer during the present financial year would have been saved if Resolutions authorising the collection of the Income Tax on the basis of last year's Budget had been passed immediately after the conclusion of the Debate on the Address?
§ Mr. LLOYD-GEORGEI do not think it would be desirable for me to anticipate my annual review of the financial situation by giving the detailed information asked for by the hon. Member. As regards the last part of the question, there are not adequate data for forming an estimate.
