HC Deb 14 March 1910 vol 15 c14
Mr. LEACH

asked how many educational authorities have taken advantage of Section 11 of The Educational (Administrative Provisions) Act, 1907, to grant maintenance bursaries to the children of the poor to enable them to remain in elementary or higher elementary schools from the age of 12 up to the limit of age fixed for the limit of instruction in a public elementary schools?

Mr. TREVELYAN

No information is at present available. It must be remembered that the Act in question has been in force for little more than two years. The Board's only source of information on this subject is the audited accounts of the Local Education Authorities. They have not, as yet, received the accounts of all the Local Education Authorities for a complete financial year since the Act came into force.
