HC Deb 14 March 1910 vol 15 c15
Captain CRAIG

asked the Postmaster-General whether he was aware that Easter Monday is observed as a general holiday in the North of Ireland; and whether, under such circumstances, he would allow postal employés in rural telegraph sub-offices a half-holiday on that day?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)

Every application for a half-holiday on Easter Monday in rural telegraph sub-offices will be dealt with on its merits, and acceded to if this can be done without serious public inconvenience.
