HC Deb 08 March 1910 vol 14 c1310
Mr. HACKETT

asked whether the Estates Commissioners intend putting in force the compulsory clauses of the Evicted Tenants Act in the case of Edmond Barry, the Haugh, Clonoulty, Thomas Ranking, Knockavella, and Catherine Stapleton, Rathnavogue, county Tipperary?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that Edmond Barry's former holding is in the occupation of another tenant, and cannot be acquired compulsorily under the Evicted Tenants Act. He has refused another holding. Rankin did not make application within the time prescribed by that Act, and his application cannot therefore be dealt with under it. In the third case, proceedings have been instituted under the Act for the acquisition of the holding, but the lands have not yet been invested in the Commissioners.
