§ Sir PHILIP MAGNUSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, having regard to the recommendations of the Advisory Committee of University Colleges (Great Britain) (Grant-in-Aid) that cognisance should be taken of all the activities of the colleges for which State aid is now available, and that the total award of grant to each college should be a single aggregate sum, he will consider whether the conditions for the award of grants from the Board of Education and the Treasury might be assimilated and made available for the general work of the colleges; and whether the two-fold inspection, to which universities and colleges receiving financial aid from the Board are now subjected, might be avoided?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEMy right hon. Friend will be glad to consider the suggestion.
