HC Deb 30 June 1910 vol 18 c1220
Mr. BURNS

I beg to move, "That this House do now adjourn."

Mr. KING

I venture, on this Motion, to offer my protest against the early risings of this House when there are many important subjects which many Members desire to speak upon. For instance, yesterday, when we had the Colonial Vote, many Members were unable to express their strong feelings upon certain very important subjects, some of which were never touched upon in the course of Debate. Can we have some assurance from the Government that this policy of early rising and practically closing the mouths of their faithful supporters will not be continued indefinitely to the end of the Session? I am a faithful supporter of the Government, but patience has its breaking point, and I would like to call the attention of the Government to this fact, that uncomplimentary and disadvantageous remarks are made upon the action of the Government in consequence of this policy of rising so early when there is plenty of business we might do.

Mr. BURNS

I shall have much pleasure in communicating the wish of my hon. Friend to the Prime Minister, who may take an opportunity of replying to him.

Question put, and agreed to.

Adjourned accordingly at Eight minutes after Ten o'clock.
