HC Deb 29 June 1910 vol 18 c929
Mr. MacCAW

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons in England and Wales are protected by the police either constantly or by patrols as a consequence of disturbances of an agrarian character?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Churchill)

The police forces of England and Wales outside the Metropolitan Police district are under local control, and I cannot say how many cases there may be of the kind referred to in the question.
