§ Mr. MARTINasked the Prime Minister whether, in any conference that may be entered into with the Opposition as to the House of Lords' question, the Government propose to commit the Liberal party to any change in their present announced policy without first submitting such change to their supporters in the House of Commons?
§ The PRIME MINISTERIt would be useless for the Government to enter into any such conference unless they could rely —as I believe they can—upon the confidence of their supporters in the House of Commons.
