§ Mr. SPEAKERI have to inform the House that I have been honoured by the proposal of the University of Cambridge to confer upon me the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. As to accept this will necessitate my absence from this House and my attendance at Cambridge tomorrow, I ask the indulgence and leave of the House so to accept it.
