HC Deb 27 July 1910 vol 19 c2121
Mr. SCANLAN

asked whether all or any of the papers in connection with the Irish Census Return of 1861 have been lost or destroyed; whether frequent applications have been made for information from the Census Return of 1861; and, if so, whether any investigation has taken place as to the responsibility for the loss of such papers, and, if not, what steps the Government propose to take in reference to this matter?

Mr. BIRRELL

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to the question of the late hon. Member for South Belfast on this subject on 29th September last, to which I have nothing to add.
