(1) A person applying for a new justices' licence must—

  1. (a) advertise notice of his application in some paper circulating in the place in which the premises to which the notice relates are situated, on some day not more than four and not less than two weeks before the application is made, and on such day or days (if any) as may be fixed by the licensing justices; and
  2. (b) within twenty-eight days before the application is made, cause notice of his application to be affixed and maintained between the hours of ten in the morning and five in the afternoon, of two consecu- 1381 tive Sundays, on the door of the premises, and on the door of the church or chapel of the parish or place in which the premises are situated, or, if there is no such church or chapel, on some other public and conspicuous place within the parish or place; and
  3. (c) not less than twenty-one days before the application is made, give notice in writing of his intention to apply for the licence to one of the overseers of the parish in which the premises to which the notice relates are situated and to the superintendent of police of the district, and, not less than twenty-one days before the date of the general annual licensing meeting, give a similar notice to the clerk of the licensing justices; and
  4. (d) if the application is for a new justices' on-licence, not less than twenty-one days before the date of the general annual licensing meeting, deposit with the clerk of the licensing justices a plan of the premises in respect of which the application is to be made.

(2) Any notice to be given under this section shall set forth the name and address of the applicant, a description of the licence or licences for which he intends to apply, and a description of the situation of the premises in respect of which the application is to be made.

Amendment made: In paragraph (c) leave out the words, "date of the general annual licensing meeting," and insert the words, "application is made."
