HC Deb 20 July 1910 vol 19 c1237
Mr. STAVELEY-HILL

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in the case of the deaths of children boarded out under the provisions of the Within Union Orders of May, 1899, and 31st December, 1909, and the Beyond Union Order of 1905, the funeral expenses of such children fall on the foster-parents or should be discharged by the guardians?

The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Burns)

The prescribed form of agreement between boards of guardians and boarding-out committees contains an undertaking on the part of the guardians to pay the funeral expenses in the case of the death of a child who is boarded out.
