Mr. HORNERasked the Chief Secretary whether he was aware that on 1st July, when the members of an Orange band were returning from Annahoe House, Ballygawley, county Tyrone, where they were having a new banner unfurled, they were attacked and stones thrown and several shots fired at them, and that one of the bullets hit and injured the bicycle of one of the policemen who were accompanying the band; whether any steps had been taken to bring any of the assailants to justice; and, if not, what was the reason?
§ Mr. BIRRELLProceedings by summons have been instituted by members of 868 both parties in connection with the occurrence referred to in the question. The matter is sub judice, and I cannot, therefore, make any statement in reference to it.
