HC Deb 14 July 1910 vol 19 cc609-10
Mr. FELL

I know the Prime Minister has partly answered my question, but I wish to ask if he intends that the Finance Bill shall be introduced before the Recess; and, if so, how far he intends to proceed with it before the adjournment?

The PRIME MINISTER

As I said yesterday, the Finance Bill will be introduced on the 25th instant, and the Second Reading will not be taken until after the Adjournment.

Mr. BOWLES

Are we to have the print of the Bill before the Adjournment?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes.

Mr. FELL

Has the House on any previous occasion adjourned until the autumn without passing the First Reading of the Budget Bill?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot say without notice.

Mr. J. G. BUTCHER

Is there any public reasons for adjourning the Second Reading until the Autumn Session?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have given the reasons already.
