HC Deb 12 July 1910 vol 19 cc189-90
Mr. JAMES PARKER

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he can see his way to introduce legislation extending the operation of the Education (Provision of Meals) Act to the provision of meals for necessitous children during the school holidays?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Runciman)

I must refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister to the hon. Member for the East Division of Leeds on 18th April.

Mr. JAMES PARKER

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the accounts of certain local authorities who have given meals to children have already been certified by auditors, and is legislation necessary to deal with that?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Yes; that information has reached me.
