HC Deb 11 July 1910 vol 19 c17
Mr. CLANCY

asked whether, since the 1st instant, the railway stations at Drumcondra and Glasnevin (Dublin) have been closed for passenger traffic by the Great Southern and Western Railway Company; whether the company obtained power to make the line on which those stations are situate on, inter alia, the undertaking that those stations would be established and maintained; whether, if the excuse for closing them is that their maintenance was not justified by the traffic obtained through them, the company ever gave the public of the districts mentioned a suitable service; and whether the Board of Trade has any power to interfere in this matter in the interest of the public; and, if so, whether they will exercise it?

Mr. BUXTON

I am not aware that the Board of Trade have any statutory jurisdiction in this matter, but I have sent a copy of the hon. Member's question to the railway company for their observations, and I will communicate with him on receipt of their reply.
