§ Mr. BIRRELL489 applications have been received by the Estates Commissioners from persons applying for reinstatement as tenants or the representatives of tenants evicted from holdings in the county of Clare; 217 of these applications have been refused after inquiry; 138 applicants have been reinstated or provided with new holdings, and 20 have been noted by the Commissioners for consideration in the allotment of untenanted land. The remaining 114 applications were received after the date mentioned in the Evicted Tenants Act and cannot be dealt with under that Act.
