O'Brien, with an official of the Land Commission, was inspecting a farm near Ennis, in county Clare, a number of rifle and revolver shots were fired in his direction with an intimidatory object, and whether any attempt has been made to discover the persons who fired the shots?
§ Mr. BIRRELLAccording to the information furnished to the constabulary authorities a number of revolver shots were fired on the occasion in question. The firing party were not seen, and it cannot be said in what direction the shots were fired. A rifle shot was subsequently fired from a distance. The matter was not reported to the police until more than twenty-four hours later. They then instituted inquiries, but so far without result.
