§ Mr. SAMUEL BUTCHERpresented a Petition from the Trustees of the British Museum setting forth that their existing funds are inadequate for the purpose to which they have to be devoted, and praying the House to grant such further sums as the House may think fit to enable the Trustees to carry out the trust imposed on them for the general advance of knowledge.
