HC Deb 24 February 1910 vol 14 c327

presented a Petition from the Trustees of the British Museum setting forth that their existing funds are inadequate for the purpose to which they have to be devoted, and praying the House to grant such further sums as the House may think fit to enable the Trustees to carry out the trust imposed on them for the general advance of knowledge.

Account ordered, "of the Income and Expenditure of the British Museum (Special Trust Funds) for the year ending the 31st day of March, 1910; Return of the number of Persons admitted to visit the Museum and the British Museum (Natural History) in each year from 1904 to 1909, both years inclusive; together with a Statement of the progress made in the arrangement and description of the Collections, and an account of objects added to them in the year 1909."—[Mr. Samuel Butcher.]
