HC Deb 23 February 1910 vol 14 c202
Sir CLEMENT KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, seeing that in an official communication to one of the Members for Plymouth, written a week before the election, he stated that the requisite conditions for the reopening of the establishment at Devonport Dockyard having been secured, the establishment would be reopened, he will say what are the requisite conditions to which reference was made; when were they secured; and at what date he proposes to reopen the establishment?

Mr. McKENNA

The requisite conditions were the reduction of the numbers on the establishment in the various Royal yards below a required figure. These conditions have been secured during the present financial year, and the establishment will be reopened forthwith.
