Mr. HORNERasked whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce at an early date, or at all, the legislation recommended in the recent Report of the Departmental Committee on the Irish Butter Industry to deal with the protection of Irish butter from misdescription, and to enforce proper conditions in the production of butter and of milk and cream in cases where the general interests of the industry are affected?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Report referred to was only issued within the past few weeks and the minutes of evidence and appendices have not yet been published. The Department are not in a position to make any statement at present as to the action to be taken on the recommendations in the Report.
