§ Mr. JOHN O'DONNELLasked the Postmaster-General whether he will consider the advisability of making the necessary arrangements for having a trunk line established by which Galway city may be put into telephonic communication with other parts of the country; and whether, seeing that such towns as Ennis have such accommodation, he will give similar commercial facilities to Galway, the chief town of the Western Province and containing 14,000 inhabitants?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe Trunk telephone system is now being extended under guarantee to Athlone, which is on the route to Galway. I have offered an extension of the system to Galway itself under the usual guarantee, but so far the offer has not been accepted.
