Lord ALEXANDER THYNNE (for Mr. Hoare)

asked the First Commissioner of Works what was the amount of the tender originally accepted for the building of the Duke of York's School, Dover?

A sum of £107,789 was the amount of the first building tender accepted exclusive of engineering and many other services.

Lord ALEXANDER THYNNE

Was the increase, which amounted almost to the same sum as the original tender, put out to tender?

There were a number of different tenders.
