HC Deb 12 April 1910 vol 16 c1072
Mr. BOLAND

asked the Lord Advocate whether he is in a position to state when the residue under the provisions of the Scottish Education Act of 1908 will be distributed; and whether he can state what steps, if any, have been taken to secure that the minimum of 6s. per head of pupils in voluntary schools guaranteed by the Secretary for Scotland in this House on 10th November, 1908, will be forthcoming?

Mr. URE

I regret that it will not be possible to make any statement as to the results of the distribution of the Education (Scotland) Fund for some time to come. The distribution of that Fund under the provisions of the Act is automatic, and if any steps are to be taken, as indicated by the hon. Member, it can only be after the actual facts of the distribution of the present year have been ascertained and carefully considered.

Mr. BOLAND

Might I ask the right hon. Gentleman if he has taken steps to refresh his memory as to what happened in the Debate of 10th November, 1908?

Mr. URE

Yes. I read the Debate half an hour ago.
