asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the expenses of Mr. Pearson, C.M.G., who accompanied Sir Charles Lucas on his recent tour, were defrayed by His Majesty's Government or not?

Is it not a fact that this, journey was taken to carry out the spirit of a recommendation of the Imperial Conference, for the purpose of making officials of the Colonial Office acquainted with the Colonies at first hand; if so, would it not be wiser—
