HC Deb 07 April 1910 vol 16 c574
Mr. HAZLETON (for Mr. Dillon)

asked the Secretarty of State for Foreign Affairs whether he would now lay upon the Table the correspondence which has passed between the Suez Canal Company, the British Government, and the British Consul-General in Cairo in reference to the proposed Suez Canal Agreement; and also the Report of the Committee of the Egyptian National Assembly on the Suez Canal concession?

Sir E. GREY

With regard to the presentation of Papers, I have nothing to add to my reply to the hon. Member on the 17th ultimo. I have not yet received the Report of the Committee of the Egyptian National Assembly, nor do I yet know the decision of the Assembly as a whole.

Mr. HAZLETON

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what is the present position with regard to this scheme?

Sir E. GREY

I understand that the position is that the Committee of the Egyptian National Assembly will make its decision known, and that the Egyptian Government will then take the matter into-consideration.
