§ Dr. ADDISONasked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been directed to the case of the death of a child, Edward William Brewer, of Cambridge Circus, Hackney Road, upon whom an inquest was held in the Bethnal Green coroner's court on 25th March ultimo, to the evidence of Police-constable Daniels and Inspector Griggs as to the absence of food in the house and as to the respectability and extreme poverty of the family, and to the statement of the mother that she had applied for parish relief and had been refused help; and, if so, will he state what action he proposes to take?
§ The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Burns)My attention has been directed to this case, and I have made inquiry of the guardians concerning it. I find that no application for relief on behalf of Mrs. Brewer and her children was made since last July.
