asked what are the conditions under which the corvette "Wolverine" was transferred to the Government of New South Wales in 1882?

§ Mr. McKENNA
The "Wolverine" was transferred to the New South Wales Government as a free gift.

§ Mr. BURGOYNE
Has the right hon. Gentleman considered the advisability of transferring the cruiser "Niobe" to Canada on the same terms?

§ Mr. McKENNA
No; we are already in negotiation with the Canadian Government for the purchase of the "Niobe."
