HC Deb 05 April 1910 vol 16 c206
Mr. WHELER

asked whether carrier pigeons are still kept and trained by the Naval authorities for war purposes?

Mr. McKENNA

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. WHELER

Why, if there are not pigeons kept, under the heading of sundry items, which includes an extraordinary mixture, such as the entertainment of Royal personages, there is an amount for the expenses of the training of carrier pigeons?

Mr. McKENNA

I will look into the matter, but I was not aware of it. I will inquire.
