HC Deb 04 April 1910 vol 16 c32
MARQUESS of TULLIBARDINE

asked if the hon. and learned Gentleman would consider the advisability of drawing the attention of the Public Prosecutor to the charge made, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, against the secretary of the Willesden Radical Club, under the Licensing Act, 1902, in the Willesden police-court on 31st March, 1910?

Sir W. ROBSON

This case is, as the question itself shows, already before a court of justice, and stands adjourned till 14th April. Under these circumstances it would be unusual to answer a question of this sort.

MARQUESS Of TULLIBARDINE

May I ask if the club is opened on Sunday for variety and other entertainments?

Sir W. ROBSON

I do not know, but I would remind the Noble Lord that questions of this kind have the effect, whatever their intention, of prejudicing the defendant, whose case is before the court.
