HENNIKER HEATON (Canterbury)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether it is the intention of the Department to issue a postage stamp or stamps of a new design on an early date; and, if so, will he state the values of the new stamps, and the colours to be used; and whether he has been able to overcome the difficulties in the way of arranging for the issue of an Imperial or an International postage stamp.
§ THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. HANBURY,) PrestonIt is intended to alter the colour of the halfpenny stamp from red to green, but the present design will not be altered. It is also intended to issue a new shilling stamp, but the colour and design have not yet been decided upon. The answer to the second paragraph is in the negative.
