DALY (Monaghan, E.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the growing of flax in Ireland has been decreasing year by year; and whether he will immediately appoint experts to instruct the farmers of Ireland as to the best methods of growing flax.
§ MR. G. W. BALFOURI am aware that the fact is as stated in the first paragraph. The whole subject of flax culture is one which I have no doubt will engage the attention of the new Department of Agriculture when created.
