HC Deb 18 May 1899 vol 71 c928
MR. J. TALBOT

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can hold out hopes that a measure dealing with the fruit preserving industry, On which he has declared legislation to be necessary, will be introduced during the present session.

* SIR M. WHITE RIDLEY

I am afraid that I can only say that a measure has been prepared which embraces amendments of the Factory Law relating to the fruit preserving industry; but in the present state of public business I c]fan make no definite statement with regard to it.
