3. Resolved, That, in lieu of the duties of Customs payable, under the resolution reported from the Committee of Ways and Means on the fourteenth day of April, and then agreed to by the House, on still wine imported into Great Britain or Ireland in bottle there shall lie charged, levied, and paid the same duties in respect of alcoholic strength as if the wine were in cask, and an additional duty, the gallon….One shilling.—(Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer).
