§ MR. ELLIS GRIFFITHI beg to ask the Vice-President of the Committee of Council on Education whether he is aware that the Master of the National Schools at Tickhill, Yorkshire, personally receives fees from a number of the children in the schools; and whether this is a breach of Article 81 of the Code, which says "a school must not be conducted for private profit.?"
§ SIR J. GORSTI understand that the master receives boarders in his house, and that these boarders attend the school. The master receives a fixed salary for his services; no fee is charged in the school; and there has been, so far as the Department is aware, no breach of article 81 of the Code.
