HC Deb 23 March 1899 vol 69 c135
MR. O'KELLY (Roscommon, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies when he will be able to lay upon the Table of the House the Return promised last Session, showing the amounts of bounty paid by various Colonies on the exports of butter and other agricultural produce to the United Kingdom?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES

The replies to the Circular despatch sent to the Colonies on this subject on 20th August last have now been almost all received, and the information contained therein is being tabulated, and will be shortly given to the House.

CAPTAIN DONELAN (Cork Co., N.E.)

Is the right honourable Gentleman aware that bounty-fed competition is beggaring the Irish farmers?

MR. SPEAKER
