DILLONI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether, on or about Friday, 24th February last, a number of hymn books, the property of the church, were carried off from St. Clement's Church, Belfast; and whether the police have taken any steps to bring the offenders to justice?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe reply to the first paragraph is in the affirmative. On the matter being brought under the notice of the police inquiries were at once made, and every endeavour made to trace the books as well as the person, or persons, by whom they were removed from the church, but so far without result.
