I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster-General, if he is prepared to lay upon the Table a Return of the number of post offices in Ireland held by publicans or in licensed premises.

I can give the hon. Member this information now. The number of post offices in Ireland which are situated in premises licensed for the sale of spirits, wine, or beer is at present as follows:—On licences: head offices, 1; sub offices, 226–227. Off licences: head offices, 2; sub-offices 19–21. Total 248.
