HC Deb 15 June 1899 vol 72 cc1178-9
SIR SEYMOUR KING (Hull, Central)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether a despatch has been sent to India approving special terms of retirement for certain service officers of the Indian Public Works Department from Coopers Hill; and whether, for the convenience of those concerned, the terms may now be published.

*LORD G. HAMILTON

A despatch on the subject of the terms of retirement to be offered to certain officers of the Indian Public Works Department, who were recruited from Coopers Hill College in the years 1874, 1875, and 1876, has been addressed to the Government of India, but has not yet reached them. As soon as they have received it I understand that they will take steps to make its contents known to the local Governments for such action as they may consider desirable.
