MR. PATRICK O'BRIENOn behalf of the hon. Member for Dublin (St. Patrick's) I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been drawn to a meeting of the blind recently held in Dublin; and whether the Government intend to introduce a measure to provide State aid for the blind in Great Britain and Ireland similar to that provided by Continental Governments.
§ SIR M. WHITE RIDLEYBy the courtesy of the hon. Member I have seen a report of the recent meeting in Dublin of the National League of the Blind. The matter is not one which concerns specially my Department, and I am afraid I can only say that I am not aware that there is on the part of the Government any intention to introduce a measure such as that indicated.
