I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies, whether, seeing that, the legal status being abolished in the Niger Company's territories, he will also cause it to be abolished in the rest of Southern Nigeria and Lagos.

Slavery is not recognised by any British Court in Lagos or the Niger Coast Protectorate, which appear in this respect to be in exactly the same position as the Royal Niger Company's territories.
