HC Deb 28 July 1899 vol 75 cc682-3
MR. NUSSEY (Pontefract)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he can see his way by legislation next session to reduce the period of residence necessary for the nationalisation of aliens in the case of those who have been British-born citizens, but who have lost their citizenship in consequence of their having been naturalised in a foreign country.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

I have to say that the question to which the hon. Member refers is under the consideration of a Departmental Committee at the present time, and until it has reported I can give no further reply.
