§ SRI WILLIAM WEDDERBURNI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State: or Foreign Affairs whether British Indians are wholly excluded from the benefits of the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation which was entered into between Great Britain and Japan on the 16th July, 1894, and has recently come into operation; if so, what are the reasons for this exclusion; what is now the position, since the treaty came into operation, of British Indians travelling and trading in Japan; and, whether it is proposed to take any steps to extend the benefits of the treaty to British India.
