§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Lord Advocate if he will state whether, in view of the petitions which have been presented to the House of Commons in favour of the repeal of the 37th section of the Poor Law Act for the relief of the poor in Scotland, the Secretary for Scotland will consider the expediency of introducing legislation on the subject early next session.
§ * MR. A. GRAHAM MURRAYThe Secretary for Scotland has no information as to petitions which are presented to the House of Commons, and in any case he is not prepared to come under an obligation about legislation for next session at the present time.
