HC Deb 11 July 1899 vol 74 c482
MR. YOUNG (Cavan, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant for Ireland whether it is the intention of the Local Government Board of Ireland to apply Section 58, Subsection (2), of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, in respect of the salaries of medical practitioners who act as locum tenens during the annual vacation of each dispensary officer, in order that a recoupment of one-half of those salaries may be received in same manner as half the salaries of the permanent medical officers is recouped.

MR. G. W. BALFOUR

The reply to this question is in the negative. It has never hitherto been the practice to allow recoupment in respect of the remuneration paid to a person employed as locum tenens for a medical officer when on leave of absence.
