§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir M. HICKS-BEACH,) Bristol, W.The stamp revenue derived from the sale of patent medicine stamps in Scotland was in 1897–8 £2,127, and 309 in 1898–9 £2,142. Patent medicine vendors' excise licenses were also taken out to the value of £643 in 1897–8, and £667 in 1898–9.
