SMITH (Flintshire)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Government have received definite information that the German orphanage at Diarbekir has been closed by the Turkish Government; whether any information has been received as to the orphanages in Armenia under the supervision of the American Mission, which is partly supported by British funds; and whether any attempt has been made to close them?
§ MR. BRODRICKNo information has been received of the nature described, but, as I stated on the 20th instant in reply to the honourable Member for the Eye division, inquiry is being made in the matter.
