HC Deb 16 February 1899 vol 66 cc1077-8
SIR CHARLES DILKE

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can now state if any arrangement has been come to between Her Majesty's Government and the Niger Company with regard to the future of the territories at present administered By the Company?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir M. HICKS) BEACH, Bristol, W.

This matter is in progress, and we expect to be able to bring it before the House in the course of this Session. But it would be premature to make any statement at present.
