HC Deb 16 February 1899 vol 66 c1100
MR. BRYCE

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether Her Majesty's Government propose to introduce, in the course of the present Session, any Bill for the improvement of secondary education in Scotland?

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. A. G. MURRAY,) Bute

Much important action is being taken at present with regard to secondary education in Scotland, and, while they are not prepared to say that some legislation may not be necessary, the Government do not think that it is expedient to introduce a Bill during the present Session.
