§ MR. PIRIEI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if it is the intention 'of the Government to proceed with the appointment of the Joint Committee of both Houses to inquire into the establishments of the Houses of Parliament; and, if so, if he can state when the Committee will be appointed?
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURYI understand the Chairman of Committees in the other House has already given notice to move for the appointment of a Joint Committee to consider the question of the Establishments of both Houses. The motion, I believe, will be taken to-morrow, and on receipt of the usual message concurrent action will be proposed here by the Government.
